After years of soldiering on with the same basic system, Fords little cross-over has finally obtained a major transformation. From our experience with the 2013 Ford Escape, it looks as if it was worth the wait. The new Escape appears as one of the top records in a section thats already loaded with outstanding options.
The 2013 Escape has some worldwide family tree, as it is based on the Ford Kuga, a Western lightweight cross-over that in turn stocks its system with the Ford Concentrate. Its gene pool has enriched it with handsomely formed design and an fitness framework. Compared to the confident Escape, the new one has a 2.8-inch more time wheelbase and is 1.3 inches wide broader. Performance
Standard and only available on the S is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine ith 168 hp and 167 pound-feet of twisting. The SE and SEL come with a turbocharged 1.6-liter inline-4 that makes 178 hp and 184 lb-ft. Optionally available on these two cuts and conventional on the Titanium is a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-4 that pushes out 240 hp and 270 lb-ft of twisting.
A six-speed computerized gearbox is conventional, and all but the S are available in either front- or all-wheel-drive settings (the S is front-wheel generate only). Properly equipped, an Escape with the 2.0-liter turbocompresseur engine can tow up to 3,500 pounds.
Fuel economic system reports for the 2.5 are 22 mpg city/31 mpg road and 25 mpg mixed. The 1.6 EcoBoost with front-wheel generate generates 23 city/33 road, while the 2.0 EcoBoost with front-wheel generate rates 22/30/25. All-wheel-drive editions rate 1-2 mpg less.

The Interior Design and Special Features
Up front side in the cottage the Escape provides a pair of well-shaped, nicely cushioned seat that ensure proper support and comfort. Materials and overall fit and finish are outstanding. The indicators are large and easily read. But while most manages are user-friendly, those for the environment program are unclearly located, down low and at the front side of the equipment selector. The Synchronize program performs well for both mobile phone and audio/iPod incorporation. Ford has also worked to enhance the latest edition of MyFord Contact -- it performs well, though theres still a learning bend involved.
As before, theres enough within the Escape, even in the back seat, which has a lot of head- and legroom. The wide front side seat are nicely cushioned, with excellent improving for the seatback. Like the Concentrate, the Escape has a leader with a fantastic, dense rim that increases this crossovers carlike image. Freight space behind the back seat measures 34.3 cubic legs. Tossing the back seat down via a one-touch handle reveals capacity up to 68.1 pieces, about regular for the section. One interesting feature is the not compulsory hands-free energy liftgate; as long as the key fob is within closeness (i.e., in your pocket or purse), throwing or waving your foot under the back fender will open the liftgate.

Performance varies from regular with the 2.5 and 1.6 engines to absolutely energetic with the 2.0 turbocompresseur. In constant situations in which the 1.6 needs either additional accelerator or a downshift (or both), the brawny twisting of the 2.0 draws the Escape through without a thought. The 2.0 turbocompresseur is also less noisy and better, and offers excellent impact when you start it to quickly pass or combine.
Blessed with the qualified Concentrate system, the 2013 Ford Escape manages itself well in the shapes. Mind you, with its greater weight and greater center of severity you wont exactly error the Escape for a Concentrate, but its willing enough when the road starts to perspective. The guiding doesnt have the spot-on feel of the Concentrate, but body system roll is managed reasonably well.
